The US-Americans Lakyn, Tanner and Wesley from Oklahoma State University came to Ethiopia to set up a so-called hydroponic system, that is growing plants without any soil and in little space.
As we know the hydroponic system is new not only to ORE but also to Ethiopia. It is preferable with the weather conditions of this country, especially with the climatic conditions of the Tigray region. The most difficult thing for the Americans was to get all the material they needed for first building a green house and then make the system work.
Beside of this project the students gave a training to the ORE community, Mekelle farmers and Mekelle university agriculture teachers.
And finally the three visitors made some friends at ORE amongst the children but also the staff so the project organized a coffee ceremony and cake to say thank you and goodbye.
