In Brazil, 300 children attend our 2 childcare centres daily. They get a hot meal, they can attend tutorial and computer science classes and can enjoy leisure time practising sports, or just playing and having fun. For those who want there is the opportunity to participate in ballet, judo and music lessons. Sewing and tailoring courses enable relatives to make a living.
In Ethiopia, we started in 2000 with a handful of children; we now have childcare centres in 5 cities in Ethiopia and Mozambique. Besides more than 1500 children whom Operation Rescue currently looks after in the day centres, we are running a family home for orphans, and projects for blind children and for needy mothers.
Our two children’s relief centres are located in the megacity of Kolkata and in the rural province of Nagaland. The severe poverty of our 160 children, some of whom live with their families directly on the streets, motivates us to make a lasting change in their lives.
